At first, this movement was just a simple movement within the Armenian Apostolic Church itself.

took root largely in the seminary of Constantinople (now Istanbul),
under the direction of the Patriarch of the time with a desire for internal reform, a return to biblical sources...
It was on July 1, 1846 that the first Armenian Evangelical Church was founded in Constantinople.

Armenian Evangelical churches in Turkey as well as 126 annexes. There were about 50,000 members, the number of pastors and teachers amounted to 1094.
After the massacres of 1915 there were only 15,000 Armenian evangelicals left scattered around the world.
They were massacred, expropriated, despoiled of their land,
thousands of Armenians found asylum in host countries such as France.

Armenian of France was incorporated in Marseilles in 1924.
It was not until 1928 that the Evangelical Church moved to the Paris region.
Four young people from the Armenian evangelical parish of rue Delille, in Marseilles, receive a pastoral vocation.
They are Vahan Sahagian, Bakalian, Aprahamian and Khatchadourian.
They form the first generation of pastors trained in the West, and until today.
